Karen Sciorilli, CHMM | President
Mrs. Sciorilli is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and a Certified Stormwater Inspector, as well as a health and safety professional with 20 years of progressive experience. Her expertise includes Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), Industrial Stormwater Inspections, Hazardous Waste Management, and environmental compliance and monitoring. She has a strong background in planning, coordinating, and implementing environmental programs and procedures related to air, wastewater, and stormwater permitting. Mrs. Sciorilli has successfully managed the facilitation and implementation of policies, programs, and practices aimed at promoting sustainable environmental compliance within businesses. Brian Sciorilli | Vice President
Mr. Sciorilli has experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing a variety of projects in the fields of public and environmental health, industrial hygiene, lead and asbestos abatement and occupational safety. Mr. Sciorilli serves as the lead investigator supporting Architectural and Engineering (A&E) firms in the identification of hazardous materials which may potentially impact renovation or demolition activities. Mr. Sciorilli served as the Environmental, Health and Safety Compliance Officer during the decommissioning of ghost fleet vessels under the Department of the Navy and US Department of Transportation, Ship Dismantling Program. He provided hazardous materials sampling (e.g., asbestos, heavy metals, PCBs, petroleum, oils and lubricants in ballast water and materials of ship construction), interpretation of results, hazardous materials abatement project monitoring and safety training. Julie Fafard  | Senior Industrial Hygienist
Ms. Fafard has been with Aria since 2015. She has more than thirty years of experience in the environmental fields of hazardous waste clean ups, hazardous materials surveys, ground water monitoring, storm water work, underground storage tanks, site assessments, asbestos and lead project monitoring. The last fifteen years have focused on industrial hygiene. As a seasoned industrial hygienist with Aria, Ms. Fafard has performed site assessments, and hazardous materials investigations for asbestos, lead-paint, mercury, and other hazardous and regulated materials. Ms. Fafard was the lead industrial hygienist on several long-term projects including power plant decommissioning, multiple AHERA projects for various county schools, local public infrastructure and government contractors. Michele M. Twilley, DrPH, CIH | Principal and Founder
Dr. Twilley oversees all aspects of Aria Environmental’s support activities including hazardous materials investigations, exposure and risk assessments, indoor air quality investigations, asbestos and lead compliance activities and regulatory compliance training. She is the investigational lead for Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), laboratory decommissioning studies, remediation design and health and safety plan development for hazardous waste site activities. Dr. Twilley has environmental, health and safety consulting experience in an array of occupation settings including, but not limited to: housing; research, testing and educational laboratories; health care; military installations; industrial manufacturing; educational facilities; government buildings and construction sites. Dr. Twilley has specialized training in the performance of cancer and non-cancer risk assessments. She uses this training for the determination of risk-based corrective action (RBCA) for soil and ground water contaminants.
